views from yesteryear

Once upon a time, I worked in the building from which these were taken.

My office had wall-to-wall-to-ceiling windows, and my view looked a lot like this (only two floors lower and a bit to the left).

It was very hard to be sent from this to a windowless basement.

There's something about an unobstructed view of the horizon that makes a body feel like she can really *breathe*........................



I love our current building, and am thrilled to have enormous windows *which open!*, but I'm allowing myself a sigh of nostalgia for this view...........



There're a lot of things in this pic that we have looked at many times, from ground level. The library (all that red brick). The parking structure to the west of the library. One North Main, which is the dark building which breaks the horizon line (and which has featured in many Sky pics taken from its southwest).
